La Stella!
Premiered October 2020
Tommy La Stella, the A's second baseman, is having a 'stella' year (sorry, couldn't help it). Of recent, he homered in today's elimination game against the Astros, but was hit by a pitch & had to be removed from the game. Me screaming 'La Stella!' was my reaction to the news while listening to the game, which then inspired me to whip up this sign. The reference comes from the 1951 movie A Streetcar Named Desire, with Stanley yelling out to his wife Stella to try to win her back. (Truth be told, I only know about this scene because The Simpsons parodied this with Mr. Burns & Smithers, & also with Marge & Flanders.)
